Qingdao

went to Qingdao last weekend, had a great time there. apart from the (admittedly quite dirty, but I went in anyways) ocean, this was my favorite part! I´ll try that when I´m back home: "2 kilos Wieselburger (Austrian beer), please!"

gas?

this is supposed to be a gas-'production site', doesn't look like this at all to me, but whatever - I'm thinking Homer Simpson when I see this....on the way to a little village 90 km west of BJ

Performance of the China Disabled People's Troupe

UNESCO got tickets to another free perfomance, this time much better (well, that´s not hard) than Kungyu opera. got two tickets, one cost as much as my monthly salary - should have gotten more and sold them ;)
definitely worth seeing, but I don´t know if I´d like to pay that much for it

Kofi Annan in Beijing

on May 22nd (yes, I´m behind as always, but have my Yunnan excuse), Kofi Annan met with the China-based UN-staff. He even shook my hand. quite something, isn´t it? there should be a picture with me and him, but that was taken with my other camera, have to scan that once I have it

Aivee

the great thing about living in different places is meeting wonderful people from all over the world. the sad thing about it is that it is a constant coming and going...this week, Aivee left us :(
had a great farewell-dinner at cafe sambal and the bed and then a night/morning of karaoke
